A video from when I got the remote start kit and explaining how my original plan was going to work using electrical arduino control instead of the mechanical final solution.
A look into connecting the cell phone to the arduino using the wires. Good news is the wires are now connected very well. Bad news is I burned through the circuit board of the cell phone because the soldering iron got to hot. It turns on but will turn off and cut out at random intervals. Also the screen does not work well any more.
After wiring in the remote start system and having to tap into the non factory alarm system i have decided that using the arduino as a middle man is a bad idea. a few tests of bridging wires and trying to try and make a physical copy of what the arduino would be doing led to the car not being happy as is sparked backfired and flooded the motor with both oil and gasoline. I will be modifying this design to be used as a mechanical control by connecting to the phones vibration motor and when the arduino senses electrical current from the phone telling the vibration motor to vibrate i will use that pulse as a trigger to rotate a motor and make a rudimentary crankshaft to depress a button on one of the remote start kits remote. this unit will then be mounted in the trunk of the car so i can still remote start the car via text message.
